  • WKSRA would like to “Thank” the following race teams in helping at this past weekends fund raiser at the “Wausau Watercross Races” held at Sunnyvale Park also home of the Wausau 525.  Berens Racing, Miller Racing, Mo Racing, Ricci Racing and Team AJ help man the booth selling the WKSRA raffle tickets and also the candy bars.  The teams were successful enough to sell 2 boxes in a continued effort in raising money, for the coming year’s trophies.

     

    WKSRA would like to thank all these teams for the continued efforts in making the club so great!  WKSRA wants to remind all the teams to contact Dawn (Team AJ) on how you want to get them to you.  Her contact information is dawn@teamaj86.com or (715) 573-7283. 

     

    Also remember that WKSRA will be having the raffle drawing at Crandon International Raceway on Sunday Sept 5th, 2010.  Please remember to get all your tickets stubs and money returned to Janet Opiela of (Mo Racing) at rjopiela@granitewave.com for information on getting more or returning all your sold tickets. 

     

    Again in preparation for 2011 please be sure to visit the website www.wksra.com to get the proper paperwork in getting your driver or drivers signed up.  If you have any questions or concerns please contact Kim Ricci (Ricci Racing) by email at rakijaza@yahoo.com.  Please note the deadline for application has been bumped up to October 3rd!  Otherwise there will be a penalty of an additional $25.00 for application received later then the October 3rd.

     

    Lastly, please remember to sign up for camping for WKSRA’s fall rally held at the Wausau Grass Drags and Swap Meet.  It is important to get a few more families signed up as we are working at this event and receiving a donation for the Trailmates Snowmobile Club for our efforts in helping out.  To sign up please contact Wayde@kreagerinsurance.com!

  • WKRSA is proud to announce that they have renewed the first class sponsor for the upcoming 2011 WKSRA season.  The amateur stock 120 class will again be sponsored by “Rib Mountain Petro Mart”.  This is the second season that they will be sponsoring a class.  Along with the class sponsor they are also great contributors to some of the WKSRA goodie bags throughout the year.  The Rib Mountain Petro Mart is located in Wausau, WI.  They offer gas, diesel, race gas, car wash, snacks, refreshments and lottery tickets.  Along with a class sponsor they also are proud sponsor of WKSRA driver Alishya “AJ” Kreager #86 of Wausau, WI.  WKSRA wants to thank everyone at the Rib Mountain Petro Mart for there continued support.

  • The entire WKSRA Board is excited to announce after a lot of hard work to release the 2011 WKSRA race schedule already.  The 2011 WKSRA schedule is as follows:
    • Jan 1-2, 2011 - Amherst  (Portage Co. Ice Wars / companion race with USSA)
    • Jan 9th, 2011 - Weston
    • Jan 15-16th - St. Germain (World Championships)
    • Jan 23rd, 2011 - Rhinelander
    • Jan 28-30th, 2011 - Wausau (Wausau 525)
    • Feb 6th, 2011 - Townsend
    • Feb 12-13th, 2011 - OFF (State Championships in Weyauwega, WI)
    • Feb 20th, 2011 - Three Lakes
    • Feb 27th, 2011 - Woodruff

  • WKSRA is excited to announce once again this year that the 2011 Wausau 525 WKSRA event will once again be part of the historic Badger State Games at Sunnyvale Park.  WKSRA feels this is a great opportunity for all the kid racers to be part of such a great Wisconsin winter event.  Please watch for more exciting news in the coming weeks.

  • Ralph Merwin of Wausau, WI was the proud winner of the 50/50 Banquet drawing.  The WKSRA board wants to thank everyone who bought ticketes, and all the members that helped sell the tickets.  Without these fundraisers, our club would not be the same.

  • The entire WKSRA Officers and Board Members want to remind all WKSRA Race Teams to remember to fill out your 2010 nomination ballots.  When nominating someone please be sure to think if he or she will be actively involved in the group and helping making the group even better then it already is.  For ballot information or the mailing address please contact Janet Opiela at rjopiela@granitewave.com.

  • Greg Galetka's mother and Shannon #007 & Forrest # 24 's grandma passed away this last Saturday after a hard fought battle with cancer. Greg's family has been a WKSRA members for a lot of years with both Shannon and Forest racing up through Kitty Cats into Juniors today.  All WKSRA member's heart go out to the entire Galetka Family for there great loss.  Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

     

  • Kim Ricci will be accepting online registration for this weekends race in Three Lakes until 2pm on Friday, Feb19th.  Email your driver or drivers name, number and each class they will be competing in wksra.registration@yahoo.com.  If you have any questions about this weekends event, please contact Club President "Steve Cogar" at cjnkids2003@yahoo.com
  • This weekend WKCR will not be having pre-registration online for the weekends state championships.  All registration is being done on Friday, Feb 12th at 7-9pm at the Best Western in Waupaca, and also on Saturday morning in the Baumann trailer from 7:30 till 9:00am.  If you have any questions for the weekend, please contact Tony Miller - WKCR President at tkmpmiller@peoplepc.com or the WKCR hotline number 920-312-2173.
  • This week WKSRA is headed to Weyauwega, WI for the Fire on Ice snowmobile races.  This will be held by WKCR and will be the final leg of the "Race for the Cup".  Gates open on Friday at 11:00am for all the race teams, and from 6-10 the Klements Racing Sausages from Miller Park will be on hand.  On Saturday gates open at 6 with hot laps getting under way at 8:30.  General admission for the day is $12.00 or $17.00 for the weekend.  Kids under 6 years old are free.
  • Pre-Registration is open for Townsend.  Please email WKSRA at wksra.registration@yahoo.com.  Please email your drivers name, number, and hometown and a list of classes they will be competing in.  Also, when registering your driver, please make sure to tell us what classes your team wants to help out with.  Remember we need total participation out of everyone to make the entire race day run smooth.  See you all on Sunday at Birch Hills Resort & My Bar for this weekends exciting event.

  • This weekend we are headed to the Wausau 525 Snowmobile Championships.  This race is in its 6th year and was started in memory of Flip Merwin.  The entire Wausau area pulls together to make this event one of the sports most premier snowmobile racing events.  Visit www.wausau525.com for more details on the entire weekends event.  This weekends race will mark the 3rd leg of 4, for the "Race For The Cup".  Pre-Registration is set up with Treasurer Kim Ricci.  Please pre register to save time on Saturday morning to make sure we get racing under promptly at 10:00AM.  We have a lot of racing to get in so we will be working very hard at staying on schedule.  Also, the Junior classes will be at a set time "To Be Determined" do to us being able to use the large track.  Also, on Saturday the F1 final will be at 2:30pm as the premier race of the day, along with Champ 120 Final on Sunday at 2:30.  If you have any questions about the event please contact "Wayde Kreager" at 715-573-7282. 

     

  • This weekend WKSRA is off to Holiday Acres in Rhinelander, WI for our 4th race event of the 2010 WKSRA race season.  Please be sure be sure to have your driver register by 8:30am.  Also, please be sure to tell Holiday Acres when making your weekend arrangements that you are with WKSRA.

     

  • Please note: This weekends Cup race will be held on Saturday, Jan 9th at the Sheboygan County Fairgrounds.  It was first on the website as Sunday, but that was done in error.  For more information on this weekends race please see www.wkcr.net or www.plymouthsnowrangers.com.  Sorry for any confusion this may have caused.

  • The season opener is just days away at the Portage County Ice Wars.  Please remember that we are still in need of teams to help set up the track on Friday at 12:00.  Please contact club president Steve Cogar if you are able to help.  Also a friendly reminder that we will be having the awards for Saturday's event around 7:00 at the Elizabeth Inn in Plover.  Also, please note that they have a discounted rate for WKSRA & Portage County Ice Wars for this weekend.  Kyle and his great group of volunteers from the Portage County Ice Wars have been working extremely hard to make our 2010 season opener a huge success.  Make sure over the weekend when you see any of the volunteers to thank them for a job well done.  Remember, without them we would have one less race.
  • WKSRA needs teams to help set up the fences and cones in Amherst, WI.  Please contact Steve Cogar via email if you are available to help!
  • WKSRA 2010 season finale has been CHANGED!!  We were scheduled to be at the Thirsty Whale on February 28th.  But due to recent conflicts, we have changed the venue to The Junkyard Bar & Grill located in Woodruff, WI.  This location is owned by current members Ryan Wolfe and Jason Burns

  • WKSRA wants to express the importance of supporting the businesses that support WKSRA, snowmobile racing and other race teams.  Sponsors are getting harder for everyone to find so make sure they know why you chose them and their services.  Without these fine people the sport of snowmobiling would not be as great of a sport as it is today!

  • Attention all members, please be sure to get your 2010 membership forms turned in to Kim Ricci by 10/15/09.  If you have any questions on the membership information please contact Janet Opelia or Kim Ricci.
  • Also, be sure to get all the book ads and class sponsorship information that your team sold turned in to Kim Ricci ASAP.  The class sponsorships are filling up and we want to make sure the sponsors get the class or classes they want.  If you need more WKSRA Sponsor Packets, 2010 WKSRA Program Ads information or have any questions on what classes are available please contact Kim Ricci or Wayde Kreager.
